Snapmirror error "Idle with restart checkpoint" resolved - Netapp Notes NCDA

Ideally error "idle with restart checkpoint" will occur when there is an issue with your network connectivity.

When snapmirror replication is in replication state, if you modify or delete other snapshots in the same volume (which are not tag as "snapmirror, busy")

If your starting an fresh snapmirror initialization, destination volume option unicode should be in on

When your snapmirror relationship is stopped with

Uninitialized  546:41:39  Idle with restart checkpoint (at 51 GB)

you have execute the below command in destination filer to continue the replication from the same point where it is stopped.

Note: Don't execute the below command if your replication is in snap-mirrored state.

NetappFilerDst>snapmirror initialize -S Soure:volumename Dstvolume

if your snapmirror is stopped with error "idle with restart checkpoint (at 15GB)"

you have to execute the below command in destination filer to continue the replication from the same point where it is stopped.

NetappFilerDst>snapmirror update -S Source:VolumeName DstVolumeName

Verify your snapmirror configuration file

if you have an snapmirror throttle  enabled change it to unlimited by removing kb=2505 value
